CUS CIR NO. 12/2003 DATE 25/02/2003

Attempt to avail drawback by ficticious/non-existent companies -Regarding.
Commissioner of Customs (Preventive), New Delhi has reported that they have come across cases of export under Duty Drawback Scheme by various ficticious/non-existent companies. Preliminary investigation by Delhi Preventive Customs Commissionerate at CFS, Patparganj has revealed that out of38 such companies 27 of these companies were found to be ficticious/non-existent. List of these 27 companies is enclosed. Total amount of duty drawback involved in respect of these companies is Rs. 12.52 crores on export of Rs. 104 crores. Further investigations by Delhi Customs Preventive Commissionerate are in progress.

2. The aforesaid modus operandi may be widely circulated amongst Customs field officers under your charge to prevent its recurrence.
