Exempting imported sugar from the levy of surcharge.
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessaryin the public interests so to do, hereby makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No.58/99- Customs, dated the 11th May, 1999, namely:-

In the said notification, in the Table, against serial number 3, in column (2), for the figures "15.02, 2106.90", the figures "15.02, 17.01, 2106.90" shall be substituted.
