Eximkey - India Export Import Policy 2004 2013 Exim Policy

CUSTOMS NOTIFICATION No.12/2000 Dated 9th February, 2000

WHEREAS after careful consideration the Central Government has come to the conclusion that there is an urgent need to regulate the import of sugar;

AND WHEREAS the Central Government is satisified that the import duty leviable on sugar, falling under Chapter 17 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), should be increased and that circumstances exist which render it necessary to take immediate action;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 8A of the said Customs Tariff Act, the Central Government, hereby directs that the First Schedule of the said Customs Tariff Act shall be amended in the following manner, namely:-

In the First Schedule to the said Customs Tariff Act, in Section IV, in Chapter 17, against each of the sub-heading Nos.1701.11, 1701.12, 1701.91 and 1701.99 occuring in column (2), for the entry in column (4), the entry "60%" shall respectively be substituted.
