Notification No. 26/2001-Cus. Dated 1-3-2001G.S.R.(E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), read with sub-section (4) of section 90 of the Finance Act, 2000 (10 of 2000), and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue),
No. 61/2000-Customs, dated the 12th May, 2000, except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts all goods falling within the First Schedule of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), when imported into India, from the whole of the surcharge of Customs leviable thereon by virtue of the provisions of sub-section (1) of the said section 90.
