Anti-dumping duty on Acrylic Fibre under chapter 55 imported from USA, Thailand and Republic of Korea

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 9 A of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), read with rule 13 of the Customs Tariff (Identification, Assessment and Collection of Anti-dumping Duty on Dumped Articles and Determination of Injury) Rules, 1995, the Central Government hereby imposes, on acrylic fibres falling under Chapter 55 of the First Schedule to the said Customs Tariff Act, when originating in or exported from the country specified in column (2) of the Table here to annexed, by the exporters mentioned in the corrsponnding entry in column (3) of the said Table, and imported into India, an anti-dumping duty at the rate specified in column (4) of the said Table.

Provided that nothing contained in this notification shall apply to 1.7 denier colour acrylic fibre, originating in or exported from the United States of America by Cytec Industries Inc. USA.

2. This notification shall have effect upto and inclusive of the 24th day of October, 1997.

Explanation.- The anit-dumping duty imposed under this notification is based on the preliminary fundings of the designated authority, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part 1, Section 1, dated the Ist April, 1997.
