CUSTOMS NOTIFICATION NO. 91/98, Dated : 20-11-1998
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962
(52 of 1962), read with sub-section (4) of section of 68 of the Finance (No. 2) Act, 1996 (33
of 1996), the Central Government being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest
so to do, hereby makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government
of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 12/97-Customs the 1st March,
1997, namely:-
In the said notification in the Table, after serial No. 14 and the entries relating thereto,
the following shall be inserted namely : -

S. No. Description of goods falling within the First Schedule in the Customs
Tariff Act 1975 (51 of 1975)

"14A The following goods for use in the manufacture of steel and subject to
the condition that the importer follows the procedure set out in the
Customs (import of goods in concessional rate of duty for manufacture of
excisable goods) Rule, 1966 namely :
(a) Limestone with silica content less than 0.69 falling under
heading No. 25.21 of the said First Schedule
(b) Coking Coal of ash content below 12% falling under heading
No. 27.01 of the said First Schedule.
(c) Non coking coal of ash content below 12% falling under
heading No. 27.01 of the said First Schedule
(d) Metallurgical coke falling under heading No. 27.04 of the
said First Schedule
(e) Ferro Nickel falling under heading No. 72.02 of the said
First Schedule
(f) Charge nickel / nickel oxide sinters falling under sub-
heading No. 7501.20 of the said First Schedule and
(g) Graphite electrodes of size 28" and above falling under
heading No. 85.15 of the said First Schedule.
