PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 53/2000 Date: 10.05.2000

Subject: Rules relating to Refund Claims arising out of shortage for any reasons – clarification - reg.

It has been brought to the notice of the undersigned that there has been a confusion regarding receipt of Refund claims pertaining to:

i. Short Shipment,
ii. Short Supply, and
iii. Pilferage/Shortage for any reason.

Consequently, avoidable delay has been noticed in attending to such cases. Considering the fact all the relevant decuments, joing Survey Report/custodian Reports would be avaiable in groups, it is hereby, ordered that,

i) all the refnd claims of aforesaid category would be filed in the crar Section of the New Custom House, Mumbai.

i. Crar Section will forward it to the concerned group.

ii. Concerned group will receive, process and dispose it off as per the applicable rules and procedure and submit Compliance Report to CRAR Section.

All the Public Notices issued on this matter which are not in consistant with the subject Public Notice shall be treated as modified to the extent aboce and the provisions of this Public Notice will prevail.
