Sub: Change of port in the shipping documents pending amendment in AEPC Certificate for hosiery export – reg.
Ministry of Commerce has brought to the notice of the Central Board of Excise and Customs that the exporters of hosiery are facing problems in shipment of export via a port other than the port mentioned in the AEPC certificate for which they have to obtain Amendment in the AEPC certificate and then the amendment in the Shipping Bill is permitted by the Customs. In the entire process delay is caused which eventually effects the target date of exporters.

The matter has been examined the Ministry of Finance in consultation with the Ministry of Commerce, and it has been decided that on receipt of request from the exporter Assistant / Deputy Commissioner (Export) should allowed the change of port in EDI Shipping Bills / Invoice to help exporters in getting the goods cleared without waiting for an amendment of documents by AEPC. The certification of the port of change would be done subsequently by AEPC.
