Sub : Testing of import and export samples at various lab – reg.

Reference is invited to Standing Order No. 7138 dated 07.10.95 (para 2 (c) and Public Notice No. 30/96 dated 9.2.96 whereby M/s. Geochem, having offices at Geochem House 294, S.B. Singh Road, Fort, Bombay and 27/28, Raja Industrial Estate, First Floor, P.K. Marg, Mulund (W), Mumbai were approved by this Custom House for testing of samples drawn for the import and export cargo for the requirements of the Customs Act, 1962, Allied Acts and Rules and Regulations made thereunder.

It has been reported by the office of Commissioner of Customs (Export), A.C.C, Sahar, Mumbai that test reports of M/s. Geochem on comparison with that of DyCC and IIT Mumbai have been found to be contradictory and wrong, raising doubts about their credentials.

In view of above, it has been decided to withdraw the approval given to this Custom House to M/s. Geochem for the said purpose. This will come into effect immediately.
