PUBLIC NOTICE No. 21/2005 Date : 12.05.2005

Sub : De-notification of RCD Area at Cotton Green Depot.
1. The Commissioner of Customs vide Public Notice No. 66/2004 dated 28.10.2004 had declared the Railway Container Depot (RCD) at Cotton Green Area as “ Customs Area” for storing of Import and Export Cargo in Containers and other than loose cargo for transmission from / to Inland Container Depots (ICD). For its, proper utilization, the Mumbai Port Trust has preferred to handle domestic containers at the area and hence requested to denotify the aforesaid area.

Therefore, I, D.S. Sra, Commissioner of Customs (General), Mumbai in exercise of powers conferred on me under Section 8 of Customs Act, 1962, hereby rescind the Public Notice No. 66/2004 dated 28.10.2004 cited above declaring the above said Area as Customs Area under Section 8 of the Customs Act, 1962 with immediate effect.
