0703(1) Onions (all varieties other than Bangalore Rose onion and Krishnapuram onions) C A total quantity of 50,000 MT of all varieties of onion shall be allowed for exports during May,June and July, 2000 to the following agencies as follows: a. NAFED is allowed to export 25000 MTs directly or through its associate shippers.
b. Karnataka State Agriculture Produce Processing and Export Corporation Ltd. (KAPPEC) Bangalore and Karnataka State Co-operative Marketing Federation Ltd. (KSCMF), Bangalore are allowed to export 1250 MTs each of all varieties of onions either directly or through registered exporters ensuring that all applicants are receiving a fair and equal treatment. c. The Maharashtra State Agriculture Marketing Board (MSAMB) is allowed to export 10000 MTs of all varieties of onion each either directly or through registered exporters ensuring that all applicants are receiving a fair and equal treatment
d. The Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation (GAIC) is allowed to export 5000 MTs of all varieties of onion each "either directly or through registered exporters ensuring that all applicants are receiving a fair and equal treatment.
e. he Andhra Pradesh Marketing Federation (AP MARK FED) is allowed to export 2500 MTs of all varieties of onion each either directly or through registered exporters ensuring that all applicants are receiving a fair and equal treatment.
f. The National Cooperative Consumers Federation (NCCF) is allowed to export 5000 MTs of all varieties of onion.

i) A refundable deposit of Rs. 100 per MT is to be imposed if exports are completed and forfeiture upon failure to export.
ii) All onions exported will be subject to a Minimum Export Price (MEP) fixed by NAFED.
iii) The agencies named above shall ensure that the quantities released now are to be export within the time prescribed i.e. 31.7.2000.

However in respect of NOCs issued in the month of May 2000, shipment of exports can take place till 31st august, 2000.
iv) The careful selection of exporters is made to eliminate the trading in permits to export onions.
v) The agencies shall ensure that quality of onions is maintained.
vi) A weekly report of permits issued shall be provided to NAFED which shall act as a nodal agency to keep the Government of India informed if the outflow of onions.
vii) Periodic reports of the actual shipment of onion by different agencies be submitted to the Department of Consumer Affairs.

Further, another 2 lakh (two lakh) Metric Tonnes of onions is allowed for export through the following agencies/State Trading Enterprises for the quantity indicated against each:-

(i)National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. (NAFED)70,000 MTs.

(ii) Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board (MSAMB)70,000 MTs.

(iii)Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation Ltd.(GAIC)20,000 MTs.

(iv)The Spices Trading Corporation Ltd. (STCL)12,000 MTs.

(v)AP State Trading Corporation10,000 MTs.

2. These STEs/agencies shall export directly or through the registered exporters on the same terms and condition as laid down in earlier Notification No. 16(RE-2000)/1997-2002 dated 17.5.2000 except condition relating to time prescribed for export for which the date indicated in Para-3 will apply.

3. The quantity of onions released as above shall be allowed for export upto 30th June, 2002.

  1. KAPPEC, Bangalore, is appointed as the canalising agency for export of Bangalore Rose onions.
  2. AP MARKFED, Hyderabad, is appointed as the canalising agency for export of Krishnapuram onions.
  3. KAPPEC and AP MARKFED are to follow the same procedures as evolved by NAFED for regular onions, in respect of the respective varieties of onions assigned to them.
  4. KAPPEC and AP MARKFED would issue NOCs for export of Bangalore rose and Krishnapuram onions respectively against L/c. While KAPPEC would certify at the time of stuffing and sealing the consignments of Bangalore Rose onions. AP MARKFED would certify the same in the case of Krishnapuram onions.
  5. In stead of getting service charges @ 3.5% on the export of Bangalore Rose and Krishnapuram onions, the KAPPEC and AP MARKFED would charge from exporters of these varieties 3.5% ad valorem to enable them to meet their administrative expenses.

DGFT Release Coarse Grains for export during the Year 2001-2002

Director General of Foreign Trade has decided to release a quantitative ceiling of 50,000MTs ( Fifty thousand MTs ) of Coarse Grains viz. “ Grain and flour of Barley, Maize, Bajra, Ragi and Jowar ( excluding Hybrid Jowar as Kharif Crop )” for export during the year 2001-2002. The sub-allocation of above release ceiling to specified agencies is as follows:-

3. The above ceiling is placed at the disposal of APEDA for the purpose of issuing RCACs.
