2.16

To facilitate collection of licence/ certificate/ permissions and other documents, identity cards may be issued to the proprietor/ partners/ directors and the authorised employees (not more than three), of the importers and exporters. An application for issuance of an Identity Card may be made in the form given in Appendix-5. The documents/licence/ certificate/permissions may be delivered to the identity card holder and the officials of the DGFT shall not be responsible for any loss etc. of the documents/ licence /certificate/ permissions thereafter. In case of loss of an identity card, a duplicate card may be issued on the basis of an FIR and an affidavit. The identity card shall be issued in the format as given in Appendix-5A and shall be valid for a period of three years from the date of issuance.
