The Trade is hereby informed that since conversion to a new and integrated computer system has commenced in this office from today, there may be some delays and disruption in the processing of applications initially until our staff is trained properly and the usual teething troubles are sorted out. In case of any serious problems arising due to this, exporters may approach the concerned DDG/JDG for assistance. It is expected that the operation of the new computer system will result in a much better counter assistance system and quicker processing of applications in a months time. Any temporary inconvenience which may be caused in the meanwhile is regretted. The Trade is also informed that we hope to be able to enable two-way communication with exporters through e-mail as well as electronic filing of applications in a months time. The Trade will be happy to learn that connectivity with the offices of the DGFT followed by connectivity with the Customs is also on our agenda as part of the effort of the Commerce Ministry to provide a more and more hassle-free environment to exporters while ensuring better monitoring of export and import transactions.
