Clarification on budgetary changes -regarding

In continuation to JS TRU’s do letter dated 28th February, 2006, the undersigned has been directed to bring following to the notice of field formations:

4.6/2006-Central Excise, dated 1.3.2006(i) Against S.No.57, for the entry in column (2), the entry “9004 90” shall be substituted;

(ii) For “(See S.No. 85 of the Table)”, the reference below List 5, read “(See S.No. 84 of the Table);

(iii) For “(See S.No. 86 of the Table)” the reference below List 6, read “(See S.No. 85 of the Table);
5.8/2006-Central Excise, dated 1.3.2006In the Annexure, against S.No. (iii), for number “Chapter 9” read “Chapter 9 to 20”.


In case of 1 above, the d.o. letter and the relevant notification show the correct position. In case of 2 to 5 above, the gazette copies show the corrected version.

2. Further, notification no. 23/2006-Central Excise dated 01.03.2006 has been issued prescribing 16% effective rate of excise duty on naphtha.
