THE CENTRAL EXCISE TARIFF (AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE, 2002, Dated 10th January, 2002

Promulgated by the President of India in the Fifty-second Year of the Republic of India.

An ordinance further to amend the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985.

WHEREAS Parliament is not in session and the President is satisfied that circumstances exist which render it necessary for him to take immediate action;

NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of article 123 of the Constitution, the President is pleased to promulgate the following Ordinance:-

1.	(1) This Ordinance may be called the Central Excise Tariff (Amendment) Ordinance, 2002.	Short title and commencement.
	(2) It shall come into force at once.
2.	In section 3 of the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985, in sub-section (1), for clause (b), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:-	Amendment of section 3 of Act 5 of 1986.
	"(b) in any other case, a rate of duty as it thinks necessary.".
