In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 3 of the Central ExciseAct, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government, hereby makes the following amendment in thenotification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue),No.16/98- Central Excise (N.T.) dated the 2nd June, 1998, namely:-

In the said notification, after the Table and before the Explanation, the following shallbe inserted, namely:-

This notification shall not be applicable to goods containing not more than 10% betel nutby weight and not containing tobacco in any proportion.
