I am directed to invite your attention to the Circular No.31/31/94-CX.6 dated 6.4.94 wherein the instructions were issued to the effect that RT 12 returns for the month of April and May, 1994 would be taken up for assessment on a priority basis and that no action would be taken by the Superintendents to issue demands without the approval of the Assistant Collector or Deputy Collector.

2. As per instructions Principal Collectors and the Collectors were required to send to the Board by the third week of May and June 1994 their evaluation and suggestions on the assessments of RT 12s. However no such report has been received.

3. In above connection, an immediate report should be sent to Board intimating the position of RT 12 assessments for the above two months along with evaluation report stated above. It may be further ensured that the RT 12 returns filed for the months prior to April, 1994 are also taken up for the assessment ensuring that no case gets time barred.
