Ban on export of Edible Oils (Chapter 15)
S.O.(E) In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No.22 of 1992) read with Para 1.3 and Para 2.1 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-2009, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments to the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import items, 2004-2009 as amended from time to time :
With effect from 17.3.2008, the following new entry shall be inserted after entry at Sl. No.67 in Chapter 15 under
Schedule 2 of ITC(HS) : -

1.1 Restrictions imposed vide this Notification shall not apply to the following:
(i) Export of Castor Oil,
(ii) Export of Coconut Oil through Kochi Port,
(iii) ‘Deemed export’ of edible oils to 100% export oriented units with the condition that the final product be non-edible,
(iv) Export of Oils produced out of minor forest produce, as per table given below, even if edible :

(v) Export of edible oil from Domestic Tariff Area (DTA) to Special Economic Zone (SEZ) to be consumed by the SEZ units for manufacture of processed food products.

[OLD-1.1 Restrictions imposed vide this Notification shall not apply to the following:
(i) Export of Castor Oil,
(ii) Export of Coconut Oil through Kochi Port,

[OLD-1.1 Restrictions imposed vide this Notification shall not apply to the following :
(i) Export of Castor Oil, (of non-edible grade),
(ii) Export of Coconut Oil through Cochin Port,
(iii) Deemed export of edible oils (as input raw material) from DTA to 100% EOUs for production of non-edible goods, to be exported, and
(iv) Export of Oils produced out of minor forest produce, as per table given below, even if edible :

2. Transitional arrangements allowed under Para 1.5 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-2009, shall, in public interest, not be applicable to the ban imposed above.
3. The ban imposed vide this Notification shall be applicable upto
[OLD- 30.09.2011].

NTF. NO. 07/2010, DT. 30/09/2010 - The above ban, however, shall not be applicable to relaxations / exemptions granted vide Notification No.33 (RE-2008)/2004-09 dated 19th August, 2008, and Notification No.60 (RE-2008)/2004-09 dated 20.11.2008 read with Notification No.18/2009-2014 dated 02.12.2009, respectively.)

[OLD-3.The ban imposed vide this Notification shall be applicable upto 30.09.2010.

[OLD-3. The ban imposed vide this Notification shall be applicable for two (2) years from the date of this Notification, i.e. upto 16.3.2010.
