Served From India Scheme : Duty free credit scrip permitted to be utilised for payment of excise duty

S.O.(E) In exercise of powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 read with paragraph 1.3 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-2009, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the Served From India Scheme of Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-2009, as amended from time to time:

After the Para 3.6.4.9, the following Para shall be inserted.

Procurement from Domestic Sources

3.6.4.10

Utilization of duty free credit scrip earned under the Scheme shall be permitted for payment of excise duty in terms of the notification issued by Department of Revenue in this behalf for procurement from domestic sources of such inputs that are permitted for imports under Para 3.6.4.5.

This issues in public interest.
