Export of Raw Hides & Skins- Items Description Changed

S.O. (E) In exercise of powers conferred by section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 (No. 22 of 1992) read with paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002 (incorporatingamendments made upto 31.3.2000), the Central Government hereby the makes following further amendmentsin Schedule 2, Table B of the book titled ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Imports items, 1997-2002.

(1) All the entries under the Heading "Raw Hides and skins (other than fur skins) and leather" may be deleted and the following entries may be inserted, namely :-

	Hides and Skin, namely :	Free	The exporters shall be required to register the export contracts indicating the price, quantity etc. with the Council for Leather Exports
4101	i) Raw Hides and Skins, all types excluding lamb fur skin
4102	(ii) Fish Hides and Skins
4103	(iii) All categories of semi-processed Hides and Skins and wet blue Hides and skins and crust leather excluding E.I. tanned Hides and Skins
4104	(a) E.I. tanned Hides & Skins	Free	The exporters shall be required to register the export contracts indicating the price, quantity etc. with the Council for Leather Exports

4106	(b) Finished leather all kinds	Free	Subject to the definition of finished leather, notified by DGFT from time to time

4302	Clothing leather fur suede hair, hair-on suede/shearing suede leather	Free	As defined in ISI norms 8170

(2) The Heading "Fur skins and artificial fur manufacturers thereof" and the entry there under shall be deleted.
