Permission for factory/warehouse stuffing of export goods

Attention of all exporters is invited to the Public Notice No. 85/2001, dated 13.07.2001 issued under this Custom House F. No. S/16-MISC-536/01-Gr.VII prescribing norms for granting permission for factory/warehouse stuffing of export goods and procedure therefor.

2. Stuffing permissions till date are being issued by the Department for a period of three months, in terms of the said Public Notice and instructions contained in Board’s Telex F.No. 434/97/95 Cus.IV, dated 09.10.1995 and Circular No. 90/98 Cus. dated 08.12.1998.

3. It has been represented that the practice of granting permission only for a short period should be done-away with and one time permission be granted for factory stuffing.

4. The issue has been examined by the Board and it is decided to discontinue the practice of renewal of permission for factory stuffing every three/six months. The permission for factory stuffing shall be granted on one time basis and exporter shall not be required to come to Customs every three/six months for renewal of the same. However, in case something adverse is noticed against the exporter, such permission shall be withdrawn.

5. The Public Notice No. 85/2001, dated 13.07.2001 is thus modified accordingly.

6. Exporters are advised to avail of benefits of aforesaid relaxation and to correctly follow the terms and procedure in accordance with the Public Notice No.85/2001, dated 13.07.2001.
