PUBLIC NOTICE 51/2001
Attention of all importers. exporters. CHAs and all others concerned is
invited to Public Notice No.93 dated 4/8/98 dealing with procedures for
clearance of goods under DEPB scheme. This Public Notice is further
modified as following :
With a view to expedite assessments of Bs/E and reducing procedural
difficulties all Bs/E under benefit of DEPB scheme would be assessed in
Gr.VII of the Custom House irrespective of the value of the goods
against which duty is paid in cash or debited through DEPB scrip. Even
if small amount of DEPB scrip is attached to the B/E. the same will be
assessed in Gr.VII. Thus. henceforth all assessment of Bs/E against
DEPB scrip will be done in Gr.VII only.
These instructions should be followed scrupulously by all
concerned.
