PUBLIC NOTICE 34/2001
Attention of all Importers, Bonders, CHAs and other concerned is invited to the Notification No. 10/2001-Cus (NT)
dtd. 1st March, 2001 issued by the Govt. of India.
2. The said Notification supercedes Notification No. 30/99-Cus (N. T) dated 12.5.99 issued by the Govt. of India,
Ministry of Finance, Deptt. of Revenue and fixes the rate of interest at twenty-four percent per annum for the
purpose of section 61, sub section (2), clause (ii) of the Customs Act, 1962. This Notification is effective from
16.03.2001.
3. Consequently, w.e.£ 16.03.2001, goods lying in the bonded warehouse above six months shall be chargeable to
Customs Duty + Interest @ 24% p.a. (flat rate) + other charges as applicable.
