Sub: Export Promotion of High Level Committee for Promotion – Reg.

A High Level Committee was constituted in Jan’96 with a view to alleviate broad problems faced by the exporters especially in connection with implementation of DEEC, DEPB pass book scheme apart from other Export Promotion Scheme enunciated in the Exim Policy. The term of such High Level Committee came to an end on 31.12.2000. Accordingly, a new High Level Committee headed by the Chief Commissioner of Customs, Mumbai Zone, has been constituted. The other members of the Committee shall be as follows:

1. Commissioner of Customs (Gen), New Custom House, Mumbai.

2. Commissioner of Custom (E.P.), New Custom House, Mumbai

3. Commissioner of Customs (ACC), Sahar, Andheri(E) Mumbai.

4. Commissioner of Customs, Jawahar Custom House, Nhava Sheva

5. Joint Director General of Foreign Trade, Near C.G.O Bldg. New Marine Line Churchgate, Mumbai

6. Shri S.K. Saraf, Chairman FIEC, (WR) .

7. Shri C.P. Lodhavia, Convenor, Westearn Region of EPCH.

8. Shri Y.P. Trivedi, President Indian Merchant Chamber

The term of the newly constituted High Level Committee shall expire on 31.12.2002. Any member of the Committee who absent himself/herself through 3 consecutive meeting may be deemed to have withdraw from the Committee.

The High Level Committee shall take up various broad issue brought up by the Trade Associations through their representative Members of the Committee, to deliberate upon the same with a view to alleviate Export Community’s Grievances and Export Promotion efforts of the Government.

The Committee shall meet once in 3 months. The meetings shall normally be held on every 3rd Monday of January, April, July & October at 3 p.m. in the Conference Hall of the New Custom House, Mumbai. Separate communication shall be sent to the Members intimated, the date, time and venue of the meetings and points for discussion shall be intimated 3 weeks in advance from the date of meeting.

All the Trade Associations are request to bring the contents of this Public Notice to the knowledge of all their Members to enable them to put forth their problems before the Committee through any one trade representative/Member of the Committee.
