Instant delivery of imported goods from the Docks

No. of representations have been received to the effect that in-ordinate delay takes place in the delivery of the imported goods even after completion of the assessement of Bs/E & payment of duty To obviate all this, a suitable monitoring mechanism to ensure instant delivery of imported goods from the Docks is essential. Therefore, it is hereby informed to all concerned that.

i. In cases of delay in processing of Bs/e where revenue involved is more than Rs 10 lakhs or clearnce of goods from Docks, the importer/CHA is advised to approached Shri B.K.Singh & Shri B.T. Gursahaey, Addl. Commissioner of Customs Shri A.K. Pandey, Jt. Commissioner of Customs and Shri P. Balakrishnan, Deputy Commissioner who have been declared as designated officers fro this purpose.

ii. In cases where amount of duty involved is more than Rs. 25 lakhs, if there is any delay in processing of B/E or clearnce of goods from the Docks, the importer/CHA is advised to meet the Commissioner of Customs (Import) for appropriate orders at any time.

This Public Notice is issued as an additional measure of trade facilitation, as enshrined in our Citizen’s Charter of department.
