      -Units Affected by Orissa Super-Cyclone get automatic renewal
      -New applicants will get recognition on the basis of 1998-99 export
In exercise of powers conferred by section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 (No.22 of 1992) read with paragraph 1.3 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002 (incorporating amendment made upto 31/3/99), the Central Government hereby makes following amendments in the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002: (incorporating amendment made upto 31/3/99).

All Export House, Trading House, Star Trading House and Super Star Trading House, affected by the super cyclone in Orissa, who have been granted recognition during or prior to AM99-20.00 and have become eligible for status during AM2000-AM2001, shall be granted recognition status automatically irrespective of their export performance during 1999-2000 as prescribed under paragraph 12.5 of the Policy.

Similarly, units affected by the super cyclone, while applying for recognition in 2000-2001, shall be required to achieve the average export performance on the basis of either on FOB value or NFE value of exports made during' 1998-99 or on the average FOB value of exports or NFE value of exports made during 1997 -98 and 1998-99.
