NOTIFICATION NO. 40(RE-99)1997-2002 Dated the 7th December, 1999

Zine Ash and Residues, Hard Zinc Spelter, Zinc Skimmings Import Policy and Conditions


In exercise of powers conferred under section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Developmentand Regulation) Act, 1992 read with paragraph 1.3 and 4.1 of the Export and Import Policy,1997-2002, the Central Government hereby makes the following corrections in theNotification Nos. 22(RE-99) and 26(RE-99) dated 30-7-1999 and 10-9-1999 respectively:

1. After correction the Exim Codes and the Policy indicated there-against will read as under:

26.2012 00.10 Containing Zinc greater than 65% and lead and cadmium equal to or less than 1.25% and 0.1% respectively. Free Import permitted to Units registered with Ministry of Environment & Forest, Govt. of India, on Actual User basis, up to the annual quantity limits indicated in the registration certificate. 
26.2012 00.20 Containing Zinc less than 65% and lead and cadmium above 1.25% and 0.1%, respectively. Restricted Import permitted against a licence and only for the purpose of processing or re-use as per Import Licensing Note 1 on Hazardous Waste below. 
26201300 Zinc Skimmings   
26201300.10 Zinc Skimmings containing zinc 65% and above, lead and cadmium less than 1.25% and 0.1%, respectively. Free Import permitted to Units registered with Ministry of Environment & Forest, Govt. of India, on Actual User basis, up to the annual quantity limits indicated in the registration certificate 
26201300.90Zinc skimmings containing zinc less than 65% and lead and cadmium above 1.25% and 0.1% respectively. Restricted Imports permitted against a licence and only for the purpose of processing or re-use as per Import Licensing Note 1 on Hazardous Waste below.
