Iron ore rejects export allowed


In exercise of powers conferred under section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 (No. 22 of 1992) read with paragraph 4.11 of the Export and import Policy, 1997-2002, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in Schedule 2 Table B of the book title "ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 1997-2002.

"The following entry at Code No. 2601 relating to export of iron ore shall be added as 2601(f) after 2601(e):

2601(f) Rejects of iron ore chips and like generated from the manufacturing process after using imported raw materials subjects to the following conditions:-

(i) The quantity of export of such rejects shall not be more than 10% of the imported raw material i.e. pellets.

(ii) The size of the rejected pellet chips (fines) shall be less than 6 mm.
