Raw Silk Import Conditions
In exercise of powers conferred under section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 read with paragraph 1.3 and 4.1 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the Notification of Government of India, Ministry of Commerce No.28 (RE-98)/1997-2002 dated the 30th October, 1998, namely

Import of Mulberry Raw conforming to Grade 2A and above only is canalised through National Handbook (NHDC), Handicrafts and Handlooms Export Corporation, State Corporations and other State Corporations Powerloom and Silk. Before finalising any import contract, the above mentioned canalising agencies shall inform Ministry of Textiles, Government Of India. |
