NOTIFICATION NO. 16(RE-99)/1997-2002 Dated the 2nd July, 1999

      * Exim Code & Description of some items changed
      * Imports under OGL and SIL of any size or packing unless otherwise specified

In exercise of powers conferred under section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 read with paragraph 1.3 and 4.1 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, the Central Government hereby notifies a Corrigendum to Notifications No.2 (RE-99) 1997-2002 dated 31st March 99 and also notifies the following amendment in the ITC(HS)Classification of Export and Import items, 1997-2002 published on 31st March, 1997 and asamended from time to time namely:

Corrigendum

1. In para 5 of Notification 2 (RE-99) 1997-2002 dated 31.3.99 the existing EXIM code at SI. No.2 shall be corrected to read as "49119100.30".

2. In para 6 of the aforesaid Notification, the following corrections shall be made against the entry at SI. No. 7-

    (i) EXIM Code shall be corrected to read as 85249909.90.
    (ii) In the last column, the condition "Consumer goods-Not permitted to be imported except against a license or in accordance with Public Notice issued in this behalf" shall be inserted.

Amendments

1. Whenever any item is freely importable or importable under SIL under ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import items, such item can be imported in any size / shape of packing including consumer packing, unless otherwise specified.

2. The description of item classified under EXIM code 29173902 shall be corrected to read as "Di-Octyl phthalate".
