Raw silk/silk cocoons, natural rubber and crude palm stearin import permitted 'against a licence only

In exercise of powers conferred by section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 (No, 22 of 1992) read with paragraph 1.3 of the Export and Import Policy; 1997-2002, the Central Government hereby makes following 'amendments in the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, namely-

In the Export and Import Policy, 1997 -2002 (incorporating amendments made upto 13.04.1998) published under the Ministry of Commerce Notification No. 1 (RE-98)/1997 -2002 dated the 13th April. 1998, as amended, the following entry shall be incorporated in the Policy in place of the existing entry: -

1.	60	Chapter 15-1 'Miscellaneous Items'under Negative List of Imports Part II	The description appearing against SI. Nos. 5,6 and10 under the Heading Nature'of Restriction shall be read as- "Not permitted to be imported except against a licence or in accordance with a Public Notice issued in this behalf.

This issues in public interest.
