PUBLIC NOTICE NO.19(RE-2001)/1997-2002, Dt. 11/06/2001

Agricultural product will be allowed to be exported as “ Organic Product”

In exercise of the powers conferred under Pargraph 4.11 & 11.1 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, (incorporating amendments made upto 31.03.2001) , the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby lays down following procedures for export of ‘certified organic products’:-

An agricultural product will be allowed to be exported as “ Organic Product” only if it is produced, processed or packed under a valid Organic Certificate issued by a certifying agency duly accredited by one of the following Accreditation Agencies:

1. Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA)
   
   
2. Coffee Board
   
   
3. Spices Board
   
   
4. Tea Board.

2. This will be effective from 1st October, 2001
