PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 12/2004-09, DT. 04/10/2004

Procedure for import of certain items under the India-Nepal Treaty of Trade signed on 02/03/2002- amendment therein.

In exercise of powers conferred under Paragraph 2.4 of the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-09, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby notifies the following amendments in Public Notice No. 9/2002-07 dated 30.04.2002 and Public Notice No. 30/2002-07 dated 23.10.2003 prescribing the procedure for import of certain items under the Indo-Nepal Treaty of Trade signed on 2.3.2002:-

The following sub Para 1A shall be amended to read as under:

1. “ However the time period for import of Vegetable fats (Vanaspati) from Nepal for the year 2003-2004 shall be extended upto 05.12.2004 and the unutilized quota shall not lapse till this date. The annual quota of 100,000 MTs of Vegetable fats (Vanspati) for the financial year 2004-2005 from Nepal shall be permitted for import from 6.12.2004 to 5.3.2005”.

2. “State Trading Corporation (STC) & the associates appointed by STC will be the agencies to import the specified quantity of vegetable oils (vanaspati) from Nepal with effect from 23.10.2003 subject to the overall responsibility of STC who will ensure its distribution and monitoring as per Government Policy.”
