PN No.04/(RE-98)/1997-2002 dated 15-04-1998Subject: DEPB Scheme
In exercise of powers conferred under paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, as notified in the Gazette of India Extraordinary, Part-II- Section 3 - Sub- section (ii) vide S.O No. 283(E) dated 31-3-97, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby notifies the credit rates under DEPB scheme in respect of items as given in the Annexure to this Public Notice. The Annexure will form part of Appendix 28-A of the Handbook of Procedures (Vol.1), 97-2002:
1. The rates as given in the Annexure shall also cover the shipments made from 1-4-97 to 14-4-98.
2. The Public Notice No. and date appearing in paragraph 3 and 8 of the Public Notice No. 72/97-2002, dated 19th Feb, 1998 shall be corrected to read as Public Notice No. 10/97-2002 dated 21-5-97.
3. The DEPB rate against entry No. 380 and 388 of Engineering product as given Public Notice No. 20/97-2002 dated 24-6-97, which have been deleted by Public Notice No. 72/97-2002 dated 19-2-98 stands amended as follows w.e.f 19-2-98.

5. The description of item given in S.No. 2 of plastic product as given in Public Notice No. 10/97-2002 dated 21-5-97 is amended to read as `ABS briefcases / Beauty cases, with our without Aluminium frame, of any size.
6. The description of item given in S.No. 37 of plastic product as given in Public Notice No. 10/97-2002 dated 21-5-97 is amended to read as `HDPE/PP Beauty cases, with our without Aluminium frame, of any size.
7. The description of export product as given in S.No. 1 of plastic product given in Annexure to Public Notice No. 23/97-2002 dt 9-7-97 shall be amended to read as `All kind of writing instruments including gift sets except half metal ball pen / full metal fountain pen".

Corrigendum to Public Notice No. 4(RE-98)/1997-2002 dated 15.4.981. The paragraph 1 of Public Notice No.4 (RE-98)/1997 -2002 dated 15.5.98 may be corrected to read as follows:
'The rates as given in annexure to the Public Notice No.4 (AE-98)/1997 -2002 dated 15.4.98 shall cover the shipments made from 1.4.97 to 14.4.98'.
2. For calculation of the DEPB rate, the FOB value of the export product at S. No. 777 under the product group Chemicals, in the Annexure to Public Notice No.4 (RE-98) 1997 –2002. dated 15.4.98 may be corrected to read as Rs. 600/BOU.
3. The entries at S. No. 792 and 800, under the product group Chemicals, in the annexure to Public Notice No.4 (RE-98) 1997- 2002 dated 15.4.98 are deleted.
