DEPB Rates Revised

* Exports-lmports allowed from Bangalore and Hyderabad
* Gents Leather Shoe/Boot uppers get 8% credit
* Rates/Scheme for textiles changed
* Credit against Cast alloy Permanent Magnets halved etc., etc.

In exercise of powers conferred under paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997 -2002,as notified in the Gazette of India extraordinary, Part-II-Section 3- Sub-section (ii) vide S.O., No. 283(E} dated 31.3.97, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes following amendment in the Handbook of Procedures (Vol.1), 1997-2002;

1. The following shall be added at S.No. (e) and (f) of paragraph 7.36 as amended by Public Notice No.16 dated 6.6.97;

   (e)

   Bangalore Airport and ICD, Bangalore.
    

   (f)

   Hyderabad Airport and ICD, Hyderabad.

2. The description of export product as given in S.No. 6 in the Annexure to the Public Notice No. 23 dated 9th July, 1997 shall be amended to read as under:

   6(i)

   Gents leather half/full shoe uppers-8%
    

   6(ii)

   Gents leather half/full boot uppers - 8%
    

3. The description of export product as given at S.No. 47 (i) and (ii) of Annexure to Public Notice No.25 dated 11.7.97, as amended by Public Notice No.2 dated 29.7.97, shall be amended to read as under:

   (i)

   Fabrics/Sarees/made ups made out of mixed man made filament yarn with or without metalised yarn (with or without embroidery).
    

   (ii)

   Fabrics/Sarees/made ups made out of spun yarn from man made fibre and man made flament yarn with or without metalised yarn (with or without embroidery).

4. The description of export product at S.No. 43 of Textiles as given in Annexure to Public Notice No.25 dated 11.7.97 shall be amended to read as 'Dyed and/or Printed fabrics/sarees/made ups/hosiery made from 100% polyester filament yarn/ texturised yarn (with or without embroidery). ,
    
5. The DEPB rate at S.No. 58 of Electronics item as given in Annexure to Public Notice No.10 dated 21.5.97 shall be amended to read as 8%.
    
6. The description of export product given in S.No. 6 of Engineering product in Annexure to Public Notice No.10 dated 21.5.97 shall be amended to read as under:
   
   'Aluminium utensils other than those covered at S.No. 105 of engineering product'.
    
7. The description of export product as given in S.No. 1 of Plastic product in Annexure to Public Notice No.23 dated 9th July, 97 shall be amended to read as under:
   
   'All kind of writing Instrument Including gift sets except half/full metal ball pen -20%'.
    
8. The description of export product as given in S.No. 185 of Engineering product in Annexure to" Public Notice No.17 dated 13.6.97 shall be amended to read as follows:
   
   Jotter refills - metallic as well as non metallic
    
9. The description of export product as given in S.No. 151 of engineering product in Annexure to Public Notice No.17 dated 13.6.97 shall be amended to read as follows:
   
   Pen Nibs
    
10. S.No. 112 of the engineering product as given in Annexure to Public Notice No.16 dated 6th June, 97 shall be deleted.
     
11. The DEPB rate for Acetic Acid Glacial at S.No. 411 of Chemical product in Annexure to Public Notice No.16 dated 6.6.97 shall be amended to read as 6%.
     
12. The DEPB rate for 'Acrylic Yarn' at S.No. 41 of Textile as given in Annexure to Public Notice No.25 dated 11.7.97 shall be amended to read as 15%.
     
13. The description of export product at S.No. 35 of the Textile as given in Annexure to Public Notice No. 16/97 -2002 shall be amended to read as follows:
    
    Wool Blazer/Woollen Blended fabrics containing wool and Polyester/Viscose (polyester and/or viscose content shall not be less than 35%).
    
    This issue in public interest.
