Assessment of Shipping Bills under DEPB Scheme

With a view to expedite clearance of export goods under DEPB Scheme andas a facilitation measure to the export trade, it has been decided that shipping bills upto FOB value of Rs. 5 Lakhs, would hence forth be assessed at the level of Appraising Officers, and would not be required to be sent to the Assistant Commissioner for counter signature. However, shipping bills exceeding FOB value of Rs. 5 lakhs shall continue to be assessed by appraising Officer and counter-signed by Asstt. Commissioner (Group-VII).

This comes into force with immediate effect.
