EDI in DGFT Hqrs. Launched- Application Form for Advance Licence Prescribed

Subject: Pilot EDI Project.

It has been decided to launch a Pilot EDI Project in DGFT Hqrs. The project shall relate to the following:

1. To Issue Advance licence under Duty Exemption Scheme.
   
   
2. The Application shall relate to those cases where Standard Input Output Norms is published under Handbook of Procedures (Vol. 2).
   
   
3. The Export House/Trading House/ Star Trading House /Super Star Trading House Falling within the jurisdiction of Jt. DGFT, CLA, New Delhi in terms of Appendix 27 shall alone be eligible to participate in the Pilot EDI project.
   
   
4. The eligible participant may file their application irrespective of any value limit.
   
   
5. The applicant has to obtain EDI Registration from Dy. DGFT (EDI). For this, the applicant has to make an application on their letterhead enclosing a copy of Appendix 1B of Handbook of Procedures (Vol.1)
   
   
6. The applicant has to transmit application through EDI in the EDI compatible application form as given in Annexure 1 to this circular.
   
   
7. The file no, shall be generated by the EDI Division on the day the application is received through EDI and the same shall be electronically transmitted to the applicant.
   
   
8. The deficiency, if any, shall be communicated to the applicant and replies to such deficiency shall also be received through EDI.
   
   
9. A message the the application is in order and the licence is ready for delivery shall be transmitted to the applicant through EDI.
   
   
10. The applicant has to approach the EDI counter at the DGFT Hqrs along with complete set of application as given in Appendix -11B of Handbook of Procedures (Vol.1), duly signed, and the prescribed documents including proof of depositing of the application fee, for collection of license.
    
    
11. The license shall be delivered at the EDI counter against a valid identity card issued by the licensing authority
