Grain and flour of bajra, jowar, etc. -Export ceiling at 50,000 MT for 1997-98 -No floor price


Sub:
Export of grain and flour of Barley, Maize, Bajra, Ragi and Jowar (excluding Hybrid Jowar grown as Kharif Crop) during the licensing year 1997-98.
Attention is invited to the entry at S. No.12 (ii) of Schedule 2 Appendix 1 of the book titled "ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 1997 -2002".

2. It has been decided to release a ceiling of 50,000 (Fifty thousand metric tonnes only) for export of grain and flour of Barley, Maize, Bajra, Ragi and Jower (excluding Hybrid Jower grown as Kharif crop) during the licensing year 1997-98 and place it at the disposal of APEDA who will allocate the ceiling as per procedure to be specified by them. However, out of total quantity of 50,000 MTS of coarse grains as above, 30,000 (Thirty thousand metric tonnes only) shall be earmarked for private exporters and the balance 20,000 MTs (Twenty thousand metric tonnes only) shall be earmarked for PSUs. Further, of the 20,000 MTs earmarked for PSUs, 8610MTs shall be utilised for revalidation of Registration-cum-Allocation Certificates Nos. 3762, 3769, 3892 and 3899 issued in the year 1996-97 and 3000 MTs shall be allocated in favour of NAFED for export to DPR (North Korea). The RCAC for balance quantity of coarse grain under the PSUs category shall be issued as per the practice followed amongst the PSUs.

3. There will be no minimum export price for the aforesaid items.

4. Neither registration of contracts will be made after 31st March 1998 nor any export will be allowed by APEDA or Customs Authorised after 31st March 1998.

5. A suitable Trade Notice may be issued immediately for information of the Trade and copies thereof sent to this office for record.

6. APEDA will ensure that the overall ceiling of coarse grains as above shall not exceed the limit of fifty thousand metric tonnes under any circumstances and as soon as the ceiling is exhausted, APEDA will report the fact to the Ministry of Commerce EP (Agri. II) Section under intimation to DGFT.

7. Monthly statement indicating the full details, such as name of the exporter, the quantity allowed, fob value and destination will be furnished by APEDA to the Ministry of Commerce, EP (Agri.lll) Section with a copy to the Stat. Division of this office.
