Subject:- Export of HPS Groundnut, Sesamum (Sesame Seeds), Sunflower Seeds, SafflowerSeeds, Rapeseeds and Mustard Seeds during the licensing year 1997-98- Reg.

Attention is invited to the Policy Circular No. 9/97-98 dated 14th July, 1997, whereby it was clarified that for the current licensing year of 1997-98. The export of HPS groundnut shall be allowed freely without any quantitative restriction and without any requirement of export licences and that for export of Sesamum (Sesame seeds), Sunflower Seeds. Safflower Seeds, Rapeseeds and Mustard Seeds, the export licences would be required for export.

2. The matter has been reconsidered and it has been decided that for the current licensing year of 1997-98, in addition to HPS-Groundnut, the export of Sesamum (Sesame Seeds) shall also be allowed freely without any requirement of export licences. Further, the exporter shall furnish to this office within 30 days from the date of export, a statement along with a copy of Shipping Bill indicating the quantity of Sesame Seeds that they have exported.

3. However, for export of Sunflower Seeds, Safflower Seeds, Rapeseeds and Mustard Seeds, the prospective exporter may apply to Director General of Foreign Trade for grant of Export Licences as per procedure prescribed under Paragraph 11.2 of the Handbook of Procedures (Vol. 1), 1997-2002
