Special Import Licences Condonation of Delay -Late cut of 25%

Sub:
Condonation of delay in filing the application for Special Import Licence -Regarding
Sir

Attention is invited to Paragraph 15.17 of Handbook of Procedures (Vol. 1), 1997-2002. However, there was no such provision in the EXIM Policy and Procedures, 1992-97 for considering applications, which were filed after expiry of prescribed date for submission of such applications. It has been represented by several exporters that they could not file their claim for Special Import Licence within time limit as prescribed in the EXIM Policy/Procedures, 1992-97 and these claims which were filed beyond time limit have been rejected. The matter has been re-considered and it has been decided that such applications for Special Import Licence may be considered provided such application for Special Import Licence is received after the expiry of the last date for submission of such applications but within six months from the last date. Such applications may be considered after imposing a late cut at the rate of 25% on the entitlement.
