ISSUE OF LICENCES ON THE SAME DAY


With a view to further improving the services provided to exporters by this office, it has been decided to start the facility of "PRE-SCRUTINY OF APPLICATIONS AND ISSUE OF LICENCES ON THE SAME DAY" in respect of I.E.C., DFRC, DEPBs, Advance Licences and and Diamond REP Licences.

To ensure that this facility is made available to exporters who are in need of licences on the same day to take care of urgent imports or cash flow requirements and also with a view to enable this office to operate this facility smoothly, the following procedure has to be followed by parties who wish to avail of IECs or licences from this office on the same day :
 

  1. The applicant should have an enrolment number (See Trade Notice No. 3) allotted to it by this office (not applicable in case of IEC applications).
     
  2. Not more than two applications for issue of licence on the same day can be submitted by an applicant on a particular day at a particular counter.
     
  3. DEPB/DFRC applications with not more than ten shipping bills will be considered for issue of DEPB/DFRC on the same day.
     
  4. Conditions applicable in case of IECs, which will be handed over to the applicant across the counter on the same day, will be notified separately.
     
  5. Applications (hard copies in case of electronically filed applications) for issue of IEC or licence on the same day have to be submitted between 10.00 a.m. and 11 a.m. at the relevant counter in this office). Applications will be scrutinised and returned with deficiencies, if any, on the same day at the same counter after 5.00 p.m. to identity card holders against receipts. In case of applications without any deficiencies, the licences will be handed over at the same counter after 5 p.m. on the same day.
     
  6. Applications for modification of IEC or minor corrections in licences issued such as correction in shipping bill number and date, seal & signature, attestation of import/export list, port of registration of DEPB or any other error/omission/mistake committed to this office at the same counter after 5.00 p.m. on the same day can also be submitted at the relevant counters between 10.00 a.m. and 11.00 a.m. for correction and returning to the party after 5.00 p.m. on the same day.
     
  7. All other applications will be accepted at the relevant counters from 11.00 a.m. to 12.30 a.m. and disposed off within the normal time limit prescribed in the Handbook of Procedures. File numbers against such applications will be made available at the same counter after 2.30 p.m. on the next day. Applications with deficiencies will also be returned after pre-scrutiny through the same counter after 2.30 p.m. on the next day.
