Amend FTT rules to reduce the period of 30 days to 15 days for paying the tax to the Government by the Airlines.
In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of sub-section (2) of section 40 of the Finance Act, 1979 (21 of 1979), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Foreign Travel Tax Rules, 1979, namely:-

1. (1) These rules may be called the Foreign Travel Tax (Amendment) Rules, 2002.

(2) They shall come into force on the day of its publication in the Official Gazette.

2. In rule 4 of the Foreign Travel Tax Rules, 1979, for the words "thirty days", the words "fifteen days" shall be substituted.

Note :- The principal rules were published in the Gazette of India vide G.S.R. 355(E), dated 11-6-1979 and was amended vide G.S.R. 663 (E) dated 10-6-1980, G.S.R. 568 (E) dated 28-7-1983, G.S.R. 583(E) dated 1-7-1989 and G.S.R. 632(E) dated 12-8-1994 before the present amendment.
