Exempt all goods falling under heading No. 10.01 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act from the " 10% surcharge" of customs that was introduced in the last Budget.
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No.58/99-Customs, dated the 28th February, 1999, namely:-

In the said notification, in the Table, in column (2), against serial number 3, for the figures "0910.40, 1108.11", the figures "0910.40, 10.01, 1108.11" shall be substituted.
